Speaking at Schools, University, Polytechnics around the world

how to believe in yourself

Korrin uses her honesty, emotion and humour to tap into the minds of students and staff to help them realise their self-worth and teach them ways to overcome challenges.

Do your students struggle to persevere through adversity and deal with the many challenges in their life?

Many schools in New Zealand and Australia are seeing an increase in low self-esteem, lack of resilience and the inability to cope with stress and failure, and unfortunately these issues can have a roll-on effect to most other areas of students' school and personal life.

With many challenges thrown at teenagers nowadays, from bullying and self-image to depression and self-doubt, these can be tricky years to navigate.

Without the right tools and strategies, many students struggle to overcome adversity and are likely to put their walls up and continue trying to deal with the overwhelming pressures on their own.

As teachers, it can be difficult to try and guide every student along their path and ensure they are receiving the help and support needed in trying times.

Motivational speaker and mentor for students

Having presented as a speaker at many schools around the country, Korrin covers a wide range of topics currently posing problems in the education sector. These include (but are not limited to):

  • Bullying

  • Resilience & Wellbeing

  • Absenteeism

  • Staff Turnover

  • Stress Management

  • Mental Health

  • Low Self Esteem

A few clients Korrin has worked with

  • Her story was engaging and inspirational.

Our boys were focussed and interested as she described the challenges she has had to face and the resilience needed to remain positive and how to navigate the hand she was dealt. It was a real privilege to have Korrin visit us and help our students start to understand how to cope with change and challenges whether they be big or small that we are presented with in everyday life.

  • Korrin connected with our students and captured their attention as she shared her story.

Havelock North Intermediate had the great pleasure of hosting Korrin Barrett at our school assembly earlier this year. Sharing her journey of resilience and perseverance when faced with such adversity was inspiring to us all. Korrin was able to connect with our students, capturing their attention and carrying them along with her as she shared her story. I strongly encourage any school considering ways to engage students in conversations about Hauora and well-being to contact Korrin.
